Theo Verwey The Founder of NAD Therapy
Dad recently turned eighty-three. In his time he was a real live wire. He practised as a surgeon and was a keen golfer.
A while ago though, almost from one day to the next, we realised that he had become very forgetful. My dad’s physical condition deteriorated as well. He couldn’t get up anymore and he couldn’t walk properly. His concentration seemed to have gone completely, his speech became impaired and he could no longer read due to deteriorating sight. I think the fact that he couldn’t read, contributed to his poor condition. He could not eat and he no longer had control over his muscles. He did not recognise his wife whom he had known for 25 years. I must emphasise that Dad had no history of any form of addiction.
The decline came very unexpectedly. His speech was badly affected, and his speech was difficult to follow. He sometimes started saying something and would stop abruptly, apparently not knowing what it was that he wanted to say. He developed all kinds of problems. When he watched television, it clearly made no sense to him and that he didn’t register anything, regardless of what he was watching. He was really failing quickly.
Intellectually he really seemed to have given in. He barely communicated.
We took him to a specialist and he was also examined by a neurologist. We thought his poor condition might be the result of a brain tumour. They did brain scans, but these did not show any problems. Absolutely nothing. Then we started giving him the NAD supplement and it brought about a dramatic change in his condition.
All of this did not happen within just one week. About a month or so after he started taking the NAD supplement, the old man was back on his feet, making notes of things he wanted to ask me or wanted me to do. He is giving us a hard time once again. To us, his recovery is a miracle.
Scientists have discovered that as we get older, our NAD+ levels steadily decrease, and by the time we get to our late 70s and 80s, our NAD+ levels drop by 50%.
In 2013 Harvard researches published a study, where they were able to actually reverse some parts of aging. In 2017 the same research team published a follow up article. It demonstrated new understanding of how NAD+ is not only used to repair damaged DNA, but how it also stimulates the repair process.
NAD blood tests done on people 60+ show an average level of 71. Normal NAD levels is 100+
